So I've officially taken this page out of beta, and it's the page you get to if you type sophia.slithytoves.org into your browser. Welcome! Look around, make yourself at home and enjoy the new blog format for Sophia's page. It saddens me some that I never fully got this site up and going for both Sophia and Simone while Simone was still living, but it was more worthwhile for me to spend time with her than the webpage, and thankfully I recognized that even then, before I knew I would lose her so soon. I have unmade the vast majority of the changes I made to this page to make it inclusive of my two daughters, but not all of them. You will still be able to see all the posts I did about Simone. I mean to go back (still) and retroactively add some of Simone's milestones I jotted down on paper though it's possible that will never happen. I am also leaving the statement saying how old she would have been today. That may seem morbid to some, but it seems appropriate to me. Underneath that, once I've had the strength to sort through and add her pictures to the database I will have a picture of her. She is gone, but not forgotten and I want the page to reflect that.
If you miss the old page and should wish to revisit it, you can still get to it by clicking the link at the bottom of the right hand column, beneath the pictures of Sophia. It is no longer being updated, and I link it only for historical purposes.
Notice that you can leave comments in the posts as you can on my blog as well as in the shoutbox on the right. You can also make yourself an account, log in and write things about Sophia if you'd like. All of you who know and love her have the right to tell the world things about her, and I encourage you to.
I think that's all the website business for now. Again, welcome to the new site and enjoy it.
Ok, so this is officially Simone and Sophia's page now, despite the fact that it still mostly looks like Sophia owns it. Stay tuned for an increasing number of Simone flourishes as time passes. Additionally, I've enabled posting to the past, so I can get in all the milestones that happened during Simone's first six weeks of life, when I was too exhausted and distracted to blog. If the post time on a post is 20:23, it's probably a retro-post. You may want to do some digging around to make sure you don't miss anything, although at this point all the posts still fit on the opening page.
Hi! Welcome to the new beta of Sophia's webpage. I have been using this blogging software on my own page for a year now, and I am very pleased with how well it works and how easy it is to post. I decided that it would be easier to post and update on Sophia's webpage if I were using the same mechanism in both places. It was also about time her page got a facelift. She's almost three and she's about to be a big sister! Big important things going on! I am also hoping that by using this software I can crosspost the entries in my blog that relate to her and have a link on both pages when either site is updated. This is ambitious, especially since my due date is less than a month away, but I figured I might as well get started on the project. I am also planning to have users on this site, unlike on my own, so that people can add their own messages to Sophia and memorable entries of their own experiences.
I haven't decided yet whether this page will shift from being Sophia's page to being the children's page when the new baby comes. If you have an opinion on the matter, speak up in the comments!
